Family and children

Now that my children have grown up and my nest is about to empty, I feel lucky to have a house that’s full of memories. Every day I see their pictures on the wall and remember the where and the when. I love what I do and to have captured these special memories that surround me. Creativity is what drives me, and nothing makes me happier than to capture beautiful images for my clients – images just like my own.

Our photographs are some of our most treasured possessions. They show not just the people, but the love, emotion and relationships shared between them. I care greatly about what I do, and it is so important to me that my clients will not only love their images, but want to pass them on through the generations.

I have a studio, suitable for small groups and Individuals, but the majority of my work is shot at client’s homes and on location. This gives the opportunity to capture lots of informal moments as well as relaxed, family groups. My sessions are always a lot of fun and my images have a natural unposed feel. I offer a bespoke service, where every sitting is tailored to my client’s needs.

Whether you are celebrating a special birthday, welcoming a new arrival or simply looking for some special pictures with someone you love, I would love to hear from you.

5 Tips for the day

If you’re planning a shoot with children, do make sure they’re fed and rested. We can time the session to best suit your children’s sleep and meal times so that they’ll be feeling their best.

Pictures look so much better when the subjects are wearing coordinating colours, so do take the time to plan this in advance. Mid tones, particularly blues, greys and neutrals look good for groups.

If you’re wondering whether or not to get your roots done for the photos, please do! The better you feel about yourself, the more comfortable you’ll feel in front of the camera. Pamper yourself as much as you can!

Do bring some bribes for your children, just in case!

Whilst it’s great to see our children smiling in photos, the smiles need to be real, not forced, so no cheese. Some of the most striking portraits of children I’ve taken are images without a smile.
