Couples and Individuals

A gift for a loved one, some fun, informal pictures of you with your partner, or images of just you, for yourself or perhaps a dating site. Photographs are the most personal gifts we can give, and a wonderful way to preserve our memories and make us feel good about ourselves.

Our photographs are some of our most treasured possessions. They capture not just the people, but the love, emotion and relationships shared between them. I care greatly about what I do, and it is so important to me that my clients will not only love their images, but want to pass them on through the generations.

Whatever your reason for booking a photoshoot, you can rest assured that it will be a positive and fun experience. I have a small studio, suitable for couples and individuals, but the majority of my photographs are taken at client’s homes and on location. There are so many places that lend themselves to portraits of couples and individuals; a busy city street, a cafe, a country lane or maybe a more intimate location such as a luxury hotel room. Every shoot is as individual as you. Whatever your reason, I would love to hear from you.

My 5 Tips for the day

Get a good night’s sleep. An extra hour or two of sleep will help you to relax, reduce under eye puffiness and help you to look your best.

Prepare for your shoot as you would a special occasion: Treat yourself to a haircut or a manicure. I can do many things in Photoshop, but I can’t cover your roots. If you feel your best this will reflect in your photos, so make the most of yourself and enjoy the experience.

What about makeup? Yes, do wear some, but don’t overdo it. Natural looking makeup, including lipstick or lip gloss and mascara will help you look and feel great.

Wear clothes that you feel confident and comfortable in and stay true to your style. If your shoot is going to be with your partner, plan ahead and choose outfits and colours that will be complementary. You shouldn’t match, but you should look good together. Blues and neutral mid tones always look good. Bright colours are best avoided as they can be distracting.

I know this may be hard to do, but try to relax. The nicest photos are often the ones where we are unaware they are being taken. On the day I will be directing you, but at times I will also encourage you to imagine I’m not there. Feeling relaxed and comfortable will give your finished images a really natural feel.
